That,s a lot of tax.If we combine that,s 44% of the price.
I have some questions.
1)Well is that true on office copy paper category the import duty is 0%?
2)From china i am importing a little amount like 100 sheets of paper as a individual not a business. Will that high import tax still apply to me?
3)The custom officials in pakistan really open up and check every package or parcel ?
Thanks:)

Those are imported in bulk quantity even like 10x20’ … regardless of duties and taxes, you may never will be competitive. we recommend to buy small quantity locally, instead of importing. It’s FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer goods) each month hundreds of containers are imported., and there is no room for small import to be as such competitive Hope you get the point.

Dear Imran Jafri .
Is this 44% tax and duty will be per kg and of the invoice value of goods.

2nd question
There is no GST and taxs on A4 paper under computer and office paper ? Is it right?
And what will be the calculated value for 20 fcl container of 22 ton
with value of 9lak.

I intend to import A4 copy papers 80gsm and 70gsm branded. The sellers demand 30%even more in advance and remaining on scanned copies of bill of lading etc. Where as banks advise for 100% LC either at sight or as the case may be. The entire scene = all seller agree to deal subject to advance and banks insists on LC. Could you please thus advise me a better modes oprendie and suggest me some positive strategy to import the paper, please also apprise me custom duty etc etc all inclusive . Thanks… Emmee

Here is a brief explanation for us not handling A4 paper, all items that are FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) are highly competitive, and most of the established importers in these fields, have very long experience in handling and importing them, it’s impossible they are ever going to ask us for a quote, they are specialist in their field more than us, over the period of many years, whenever a new comer wants to enter into a highly competitive market of FMCG and A4 falls into that, we have worked with them to prepare feasibility, spending endless hours to work it out … however at the end of the day, it won’t be feasible for a small/new importer, even if we decrease our margins in shipping/clearance down to pennies. So you can guess A4 paper is imported in hundreds of containers each month into Pakistan, and no matter what quote we provide you it’s never going to work out for you. Most of these importers are established, been involved in this business for decades, and each of them import it in ‘Bulk Volume’ like 10-40 containers a month. Trust that clarifies.
